No One Will Let Up On Jessa Until She Produces A Baby, The Backlash Of Being A Duggar”
It’s been over three months since Jessa Duggar married teen suitor, Ben Seewald. Naturally, the Baby Clock started approximately 15 minutes after the wedding ceremony (with “efforts” possibly kicked off inside of the church) and it’s been a whirlwind of speculation ever since. Now, Jessa is speaking out about the plans for possible adoption and also, biological children. You may be wondering why a 22-year old brand-new bride with a 19-year old husband would feel the need to report to anyone on her reproductive plans. Why, because she’s a Duggar, of course!
According to Inquisitr via quotes from Celebrate Arkansas magazine, Jessa and Ben are praying for kids:
During an interview for the February issue of Celebrate Arkansas magazine, Jessa Duggar talked about expanding her family. She revealed that she’s interested in adopting and having biological children with husband Ben Seewald.
”We would love to have children of our own, and we would also love to adopt. It’s something we are constantly praying about,” Jessa said.
If I were a betting woman, I would say that either Jessa doesn’t actually want kids right away or it just isn’t happening yet. She can’t say anything publicly about wanting to delay children because Jim Bob and Michelle would be horrified. Speaking out about a baby not happening right away would obviously be embarrassing for her considering her sister Jill’s Insta-Pregnancy. Either way, I cannot imagine feeling pressure to discuss such a personal matter with a news outlet but when your family’s business is making babies, it should not come as a shock. That said, what’s going to happen if a year goes by and no babies? Will people stop hounding her eventually, or is this her life until she brings forth an heir? So messed up.
The fact is, Jessa and Ben are extremely young. As far as I know, Ben is still employed by Jim Bob and they live in a house Jim Bob pays for. Isn’t this starting to feel like Jim Bob is breeding more children? He is basically facilitating a life for these kids that they would not have otherwise, likely, to further the purpose of procreation. That might sound crazy, but how else to explain it? They could have waited to get married until Ben finished school and got a real job but that wouldn’t do as Jessa had reached prime baby-making age. They had to get moving, apparently. It’s just so many shades of wrong.
I, for one, hope that Jessa and Ben ARE waiting on purpose because they are having fun with each other as newlyweds. When couples marry young, I think it’s important that they enjoy each other and get to know each other first. I know some people want kids right away and that’s fine too, but we all know the Duggars have no choice in the matter. It’s the lack of choice that sucks, not the choice itself. I truly hope that if babies are what Jessa wants, they come quickly. I can’t imagine it’s fun being stoned by the press (and probably her family) about the state of your uterus.
