The New ‘Gone Girl’ Trailer Is Here And It Contains Two Cool Little Secrets

By  |

Gone Girl Trailer Easter Eggs Oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear it’s finally here! The first trailer for the much-much-muchly anticipated Gone Girl movie directed by David Fincher and starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike and produced by Reese Witherspoon and for some inexplicable reason also starting Neil Patrick Harris. Even more disturbing than that the fact is for some reason Tyler Perry is in the movie. The movie opens October 3 so we have more than enough time to pick a theater and coordinate our outfits and save up all of our popcorn money so we can all go together, yes?  I’m the biggest Gillian Flynn fan, y’all don’t even know, and I was reading her back before anyone else (I can never say this about bands, only about authors, which shows what a nerd I am )  was when she wrote Sharp Objects and I forced everyone I know to read it and I devoured Gone Girl in about one day. I can remember carrying my Kindle around with me all over the house and practically walking into walls because I just couldn’t put it down.

Because I’m a total nerd, I discovered two kinda cool things in the video and I don’t think anyone else has yet because I scoured the inter-webs and I couldn’t find it mentioned, so you heard it from me first: If you call the number shown on the billboard (1-855-4-AMY-TIPS) you can listen to the first chapter of the book. Also, if you go to the website Find Amazing Amy you get a faux Fox News page for the fictional search for Amy Dunne.

I’m sure there are more little secrets out there, which is totally fitting because the book is such a mystery with a major plot twist and all of those things that made so many of us unable to put it down. Also, some of you may recognize Richard Butler from The Psychedelic Furs performing She by Charles Aznavour, also made famous by Elvis Costello in the movie soundtrack for Notting Hill.

October 3 cannot come soon enough.
