As much as I love the holidays, there’s one part of it that I am not looking forward to: the shopping! Target announced that they would be offering free 2-day shipping through the holiday season. As if we needed another reason to spend all our money there.
Now, you might be thinking, “Well, Amazon already does this, what’s the big deal?” Target is going to hook us up with no minimum purchase and NO MEMBERSHIP. That’s right – you don’t have to shell out the big bucks for Prime with Target. According to the press release, Target is going to be the first big box retailer to offer free 2-day shipping to “all guests on hundreds of thousands of items, with no minimum purchase and no membership required.”
Target CEO Brian Cornell said in the release, “We want to make the busy holiday season easier for our guests so they can spend more time with their family and friends. From same-day delivery with Shipt, Drive Up, Free 2-Day Shipping and more, no other retailer can match the convenient delivery options that Target will offer this season. When you combine these services with our incredible assortment of exclusive brands, everyday low prices and skilled team, I’m confident Target will be America’s easiest and most enjoyable place to shop for the holidays and beyond.”

But Target was already doing a whole lot to make life easier. They’ve partnered with Shipt for same-day delivery to millions of customers. They have an amazing Drive-Up service in nearly 1,000 stores. You can order online and pick up in-store. And they even have a restock service for common items like diapers and toilet paper, which is free for Red Card holders. And now this free 2-day shipping?! Marry me.
