Although swelling can be uncomfortable, it should only last a week at most before you are ready to show your new, beautiful lips to the world. This is why you should get lip fillers done about two weeks before a special occasion, such as a wedding. Otherwise than applying ice, if you are experiencing lip swelling after lip fillers, you should avoid excessive heat. This includes hot yoga, saunas, or Jacuzzis according to The Spotlyte. If you continue to experience swelling after a week or your swelling gets worse over time, you should go to a doctor to see if you would need antibiotics for the swelling. Worsening or excessive swelling can be a sign of infection.
