Get ready world! Blue Ivy Carter is ready for her first photo op. After being announced at the VMAs and shutting down an entire hospital, we expected the first photos of Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s little girl to come on the front page of a magazine. At the very least, she could show up on Ellen or something.

Nope, after months of over-exposure, the Carter family dropped their little girl’s first photos on a Friday afternoon on their personal website. It’s more like a politician trying to hide a scandal than a family showcasing their bundle of joy.

I have to admit, I’m thrilled that Bey and Jay chose such a common way to share these first photos. Beyonce barely seem to be wearing make-up. The baby looks comfortably cradled with her momma, instead of displayed like a piece of meat. It’s just a warm family photo.

Hopefully this is the beginning of a new trend for Blue Ivy. Instead of the intense drama that’s been following her birth, maybe this picture is the start of a more low-key lifestyle. Although her name was still trademarked, so I guess we can only hope so much.
