Russell Brand Could Make A lot Of Money From Katy Perry, No Kids Required
Katy Perry and Russell Brand weren’t married long. But despite their mere 14-month union, Russell could walk with half of his ex-wife’s earnings — and they didn’t even have any kids!
The pair reportedly did not sign a pre-nuptial agreement when they married in October 2010, and so Russell is entitled to a 50/50 split of assets. And when considering the finances of both stars, there is quite a disparity in who is making the money in that household.
According to Daily Mail, Katy’s net worth has almost doubled with consistent touring and other business opportunities making this probably the worst financial time in her career to get a divorce. Although her soon-to-be ex-hubby works himself, his earnings only come to about a fourth of what Katy rakes in a year.
There may not be little Russells or Katys to support in this split, but Brand could still walk with a reported £20 million. Why the couple didn’t opt for a prenuptial agreement isn’t quite clearly, especially given that the two have such fortunes at stake and marriages in Hollywood aren’t exactly known for their longevity. But whatever Russell’s reason for checking that notorious “irreconcilable differences” box, he stands to turn quite the profit from his stint with married life.
