One Baby And A Very Long Engagement Later Cynthia Nixon And Fiancee Finally Marry
When Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon announced her engagement to girlfriend Christine Marinoni three years ago, same-sex marriage was not yet legal in the state of New York. But one very important piece of legislation later, following the birth of the couple’s infant son Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni, the pair have officially tied the knot in New York.
People reports that the two ladies wed over Memorial weekend on Sunday with Cynthia wearing a custom made Carolina Herrera dress. Although the pair had been engaged for sometime, a fact that Cynthia was reportedly enjoying, they weren’t willing to put any wedding plans on the books until their union — and therefore their family — was recognized by the law.
No word yet on whether Cynthia’s two children from her previous partnership with David Mozes attended the ceremony. But the family can now certainly enjoy all the privileges of being legally recognized in their home state.
