Cats Riding on Roombas Have Nothing on this Roomba-Riding Baby Video

The greatest thing the Internet ever did was give us videos of cats riding on Roombas. It’s like a perfect storm of calm and cuteness. Just put the video on, and watch the cat roll. It’s adorable, and also strangely calming. I would like to put this on repeat and just stare at it blankly for several hours without thinking about anything. (It’s been a long couple days.)
This is what happens when daddy is left alone with the baby. Good times! Posted by Adam Nelson on Monday, August 24, 2015
The baby’s Bumbo chair fits snugly on top of the family Roomba, and once secured to the little vacuum, the baby goes for a ride. The baby looks a little bewildered, but she seems to like it when her feet hit the wall and she turns around.
Is this safe? I have no idea if it is safe. The Bumbo chair was secured to the Roomba, and Roombas don’t go very fast. The baby was obviously being closely supervised by at least one adult at the time. It does make me a little nervous, but I admit I am generally a very nervous person. (I get super nervous looking at photos of all the stuff I was allowed to do as a very small child–like ride very large horses by myself when I was under 3–even though I obviously survived to adulthood. Still, I look at them and imagine my infant in my place and I’m like, “Augh!”) So I’m not the best judge of scariness.
As cool as the Roomba is, I feel like a key opportunity is being missed to steer the baby around with a remote control. It’s only a matter of time before someone uses an RC car remote to the baby around the room like a cute little drone.
