So We Now Have A Third Victim Coming Forward Against The Fallen Voice Of Elmo, Kevin Clash

You know the script by now. Yet another man has come forward alleging that Kevin Clash had a sexual relationship when he was underage. That brings us up to three victims (or rather two considering tat the original accuser recanted) for those still holding out hope for the voice of Elmo.

It’s barely been a week since Clash’s resignation from Sesame Street, but the Chicago Tribune reports that a man identified only as John has filed a lawsuit today in Manhattan. Within the suit, John accuses Clash of engaging in oral sex (along with other sex acts) when he was 16:

The suit alleges the incident occurred in either 2000 or 2001 when John, who is from Florida, visited New York for modeling opportunities. John came to know Clash, then 40, through a telephone chat line for gays on which Clash claimed to be a 30-year-old named Craig, according to the suit.

John returned to New York when he turned 18, and he and Clash renewed the relationship, the lawsuit said.

The details mirror those of Cecil Singleton, who filed a $5 million suit, claiming that he met Clash in a gay chat room when he was 15 way back in 1993. This third alleged victim, John, is seeking at least $75,000 in damages from Clash. But his publicist, Risa B. Heller, says the Clash finds this later suit to have “no merit.”

Two alleged victims later, I guess it would be lovely for all parties if that was actually true.
