This Guy Found a Way to Nap in the Pool and it’s Peak Dad
There’s nothing quite as relaxing as floating in a pool on a hot day. The water keeps you cool and weightless, and if you’re lucky, a breeze will rock you to sleep. I could really go for a nap in the pool right now. I prefer the traditional, “lay on my back on a floaty” way of napping, unlike this man from Louisiana, who figured out a way to nap face-down in the pool without, you know, drowning.
Teenager Skyler Nitschke was swimming with some friends in her backyard when they were interrupted by her dad, Dan. Skyler told BuzzFeed that her dad announced, “Alright, it’s nap time!” then put on a snorkel, climbed onto a raft, and put his face right into the water. The teen snapped some pictures and posted them on Twitter, because life that isn’t shared on social media isn’t worth living, I guess.
To be fair, he does look very comfortable. But I have this weird fear of drowning, so I don’t think I’ll be attempting this snorkel nap anytime soon.
Twitter went crazy for Dan Nitschke’s nap hack. Skyler’s tweet has been liked more than 150,000 times.
Many users gave Skyler’s dad props for creativity.
Others took the golden opportunity to reply, appropriately, with a Dad Joke.
While others couldn’t help but point out the obvious.
Skyler said her dad was really sleeping, too. “He was dead asleep, I had to go wake him up,” she said to BuzzFeed.
But don’t worry about the safety of Mr. Nitschke. His daughter says he’s a pro at this. “He does it all the time apparently.”
