2 Explosions At The Boston Marathon, The 26th Mile Of Which Was Dedicated To Newtown Victims

boston marathon explosionTwo explosions, one of which has been confirmed, reportedly went off at the finish of the Boston marathon today. Associated Press reports that two have died and 23 are injured. No suspects are in custody at this time. Today is also a state holiday in Boston, meaning that no children are in school. Authorities are telling people to stay away from trash cans.

The victims of the Newtown tragedies were to be honored at the 26th mile of the race, along with 26 seconds of silence before the race. Jackie Bruno, an anchor of NECN, reports seeing grisly and horrific images:

Two more devices have been found and are being dismantled, according to the Associated Press.
