Talk About Insta-Family! Jillian Michaels Adopts Child, Partner Gives Birth In Same Week

Jillian Michaels, the trainer who famously whipped people’s asses into shape on The Biggest Loser, has become a two-time mom. In the same week that Michaels brought home an adopted 2-year-old girl from Haiti, her partner, Heidi Rhoades, gave birth to a son. “We’re swimming in babies over here,” the 38-year-old trainer told People magazine. I’d say!

The timing is crazy, given that Michaels began the adoption process years ago. In December 2010, she announced she’d be leaving The Biggest Loser to focus on starting a family. In February 2011, Michaels revealed the paperwork was done and that she was eagerly awaiting the phone call. “That could be anywhere from six months to a year,” she said at the time.

That time has finally come, and Michaels is now the proud mom of a 2-year-old girl named Lukensia. In the same week, Rhoades, 31, gave birth to a boy, Phoenix. It’s all such wonderful news and I can just imagine the happy chaos going on that house right now.

“I don’t even answer email. I don’t have time to care about anything else,” Michaels tells People. “I want to be really present and enjoy all the nuances of their growth and development. I don’t want to rush any of it.”

Michaels also shared the news via Facebook, where she thanked everyone for sharing this long journey with her.
