13 Tattoos Inspired by Kids That Are Perfect Little Treasures
Tattoos are a great way to honor someone””especially if that someone is your child. While people get inked for all sorts of reasons, you can be fairly certain you’ll never regret one related to your kids. Lately, I’ve been thinking about getting some fresh ink as well. I only have one tattoo, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more. I plan to get a mermaid in honor of the daughter I lost, and a train in honor of my son, who is now 3. That’s why I’m really enjoying srolling through these tattoos for parents inspired by their kids.
Some of the tattoos I’ve run into are fairly straightforward: a child’s name or face. Others are related to things that their children love (my son love trains, hence that inspiration). Others chose to create tattoos out of drawings that their children made (I absolutely love this idea). Take a look at these and see if you don’t find some inspiration for your next bit of ink.

This one of a mama as a mermaid with her two kiddos is absolutely adorable. I’m assuming she used the nicknames of her kids for this one.

This parent opted to get their children’s names done in Indonesian calligraphy. A great and creative way to get a text based tattoo, while also honoring ones’ culture.

Look at this adorable kid drawing, complete with obvious kid text.

Using your baby’s handprints is always a sweet idea.

Although it’s also totally cool to use your little one’s footprints as well, like this mama did.

What do y’all think of these tiny little hearts with kiddo drawings in them? Totally cute, and the little pattern surrounding them is a nice touch.

This one is pretty straight forward, with a nice twist. Lots of parents opt to get their baby’s heartbeat tattooed on them. There’s even an app for that.

You could also get even more creative, by adding your thumbprints to the mix. Or in this case, it’s mom’s and dad’s thumbprints combined to make a heart, and each kiddo’s heartbeat on each side.

This mom honors her sun with the crown and the feather is in memory of the baby she lost.

While this other mom honors her rainbow baby with this tattoo.

An hourglass with their kid’s names in it””quite possibly to remind them of how quickly the time passes.

A tattoo of all your child’s favorite things always works.

Or just use one symbol to honor them, like this beautiful owl piece.
