That Viral Maroon 5 Wedding Crasher Video Was Actually Staged, Dummies

Last week, the internet went crazy over a Maroon 5 video that showed the band crashing the weddings of (supposedly) unsuspecting brides and grooms. Well, it turns out it was totally staged and that makes so much more sense. I know exactly zero people who would be happy with Adam Levine strolling into the middle of one of the most important days of their life and serenading them with some hipster love song. Just, no.

Right? Isn’t that what you were all thinking too, or am I the only person who thinks the idea of this is completely obnoxious? Anyway, doesn’t matter because it isn’t real. Someone from Jezebel actually bothered to pay attention to some details of the video, and they suddenly noticed a bunch of actors and actresses as major players in the video. One of the brides was a winner from America’s Top Model (further proof that no one watches that show anymore if that went under the radar). There were some other actors who the site also noticed — but then a set of actors who played the mother and father of one of the brides in the video took to their Facebook page to say:

… and a large fart noise reverberated across the internet. Then I imagine Adam Levine called them and said, “you dumb jerks – that was supposed to be REAL.” Because they edited the status update and now it says this:

Um. “We played the parents of the bride and yes, everything was staged.” HOW DARE YOU, INTERNET? How dare you put words in her mouth and/or take that direct statement that she made out of context?

I’m just really happy that all of these couples didn’t have their day ruined by Adam Levine. I found it very suspect to say the least that all of these couples seemed thrilled.
