This quick jump in popularity means you may be seeing it more and more in the next year. It is of English origin and means simply “kings town”.  Its rise in popularity began back in 2006 when Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rosedale chose it for their son, giving the name an obvious “starbaby” effect. Luca currently sits at number 83 on our popularity lists and is currently a popular choice all throughout Europe as well. It is another of our trending names with ties to pop culture as Colin Firth and his wife chose the name for one of their sons, as did Hillary Duff.

It has risen a dramatic 657 spots since last year showing us that it is destined to be a chart-topper in 2019. The name is a Scandinavian variation of the name Neil, and means “cloud”, although this name also has English ties meaning “island”. You may not see many Nyle’s running around at the present time, but its sudden and dramatic jump up the popularity lists is a clear indication that we shouldn’t count this name out just yet and will see it popping up everywhere in the next year.

Kylo

Another one syllable name the baby name Kylo is the fastest rising baby boys name of 2018 according to social security records. Kylo has gained its sudden popularity from the Star Wars movies and its villain Kylo Ren. It also takes on the fashionable “o” ending, giving it another point in trending popularity. It is an American name and currently sits at number 741 on lists, but will no doubt continue to rise throughout the ending of this year and 2019. Like Nyle, it may not be a name you are currently hearing, but its fast and furious race to the top of lists shows us that will soon be changing.
