There are two sides to the Force, a Dark Side and a Light Side, an the toddler daughter of GeekDad senior editor Jonathan Liu has clearly chosen her allegiance.

According to Yahoo Parenting, Liu and his family were watching Star Wars recently, as one does, and his toddler was allowed to watch some parts before she went to bed. Apparently she liked it, because then Liu saw on the baby monitor that the little girl, who is just two and a half years old, was happily singing the Imperial March to herself in her crib.

”We watched Star Wars with our kids recently, and our toddler really enjoyed the bits she saw before her bedtime,” Liu explained. ”One of her favorite parts: the Imperial March. Here she is singing it to herself in her crib.”

It is adorable, and Liu must be very proud. Not only is his baby already on her way to becoming a Sith Lord, she sounds like she has a really good ear for musical tone for a toddler.

Star Wars might be a little much for a lot of toddlers, but this one certainly liked the parts that she saw. Liu says that she doesn’t seem to understand everything that is going on, but she does recognize some of the characters, like Yoda, R2-D2, and Darth Vader.

She seems to have a particular affinity for Lord Vader.

”When he first appeared on the screen, she started mimicking the sound of his breathing,” Liu wrote ”When ”˜The Imperial March’ started playing, she stood up and danced!”

Liu’s daughter is completely adorable, and someone needs to get her a tiny suit of Storm Trooper armor ASAP. I look forward to see her leading the Empire someday. And I think she might have some company, because I was just playing the video of her singing the Imperial March in her crib, and my toddler heard and is trying to sing it too. The future belongs to the Dark Side.
