This Napping Newborn Is The Soundest Sleeper and the Best Cosplayer Ever

“Sleep when the baby sleeps,” is what everyone will tell you when you have a newborn, but that is bad advice. If you have a fussy, delicate sleeper who will only sleep when you’re physically holding her, you can’t sleep when the baby sleeps because you have to be holding her. If you have a baby who could sleep through a frat party, then you shouldn’t sleep while the baby sleeps, because you can use that time to turn your baby into the best cosplayer of all time, like photographer Laura Izumikawa.

Izumikawa is lucky because her baby is a good sleeper, and apparently she also has a costume closet that would rival Ru Paul’s. When little Joey Marie goes down for a nap, Izumikawa piles accessories around the sleeping baby to make the most adorable photos for her friends and family.

“Joey slept so deeply, so I thought it’d be fun adding little props around her just to send some hilarious pictures to our parents and friends,” Izumikawa told Buzzfeed. But Izumikawa’s cute little props are a bit more than the occasional headband or stuffed animal. Here is Joey Marie dressed as Jon Snow from Game of Thrones.

I can’t deal. I think I’m pregnant again.

Apparently Joey has once or twice woken up while this is going on, and she just looks at her mom, smiles, and goes right back to sleep. Joey is the best.

She made me crave sushi w/ ginger everyday during my pregnancy. So this is payback.  | 7w

I don’t know which I envy more, the well-stocked costume closet, or the world’s sleepiest baby.

I could post every single one of these photos and never get tired of it, but go check out her entire series over on Instagram. I don’t know of a single better way to spend a Sunday night.
