This Dude Sent His Mom a Cardboard Cut-Out of Himself, and Her Response Is Hilarious
It looks like a sense of humor can be hereditary. A young man decided to mail his mother a life-sized cardboard cut-out of himself as a joke to keep her company while he’s away on a study-abroad term, and that was a pretty funny joke, but what was really funny was his mother’s response.
A Redditor going by the handle ienjoybread posted yesterday that he had sent a cut-out of himself as a joke to his mother, and that she seemed to be enjoying it, because she responded by sending him a bunch of photos of what his flat doppelganger was doing while he was away:
“Jokingly sent my mom a cutout of myself while I’m studying abroad,” he wrote. “She seems to be entertaining herself with it.”

It looks like he had a pretty good day! Also I love their family’s Easter table cloth, and I feel marginally robbed by the lack of a photo of the face on the person whose doctor’s appointment was hijacked in the fourth photo.
This is particularly wonderful, because it means that there was a woman just walking around town with a life-sized cardboard cut-out of her son, and she was doing things like taking pictures at the dog park, getting sandwiches at Subway, and more. What must everyone at the dog park have thought? This guy’s mom cares not if the sandwich artists think she’s crazy. She’s awesome.
All the photos are fantastic, but my favorite is the last one, because of the Dr. Seuss book she chose. That’s the one that takes the joke juuuuuust this side of creepy, and that’s when it is at its most wonderful.
For those who–for whatever reason–might want to acquire a custom cardboard cut-out like this, they are available from Fathead.com, but they’re not exactly cheap. They cost between $109.99 and $149.99, depending on height, but that could be a small price to pay to get your mom to run around town with a cardboard cut-out of you to freak out all the people at the dog park. I kind of want to get one for myself, but I’m not sure I’m funny enough to make it worth the cost.
The dude in question is a pretty funny guy. Among other things, he’s the star of this bizarre and wonderful Bob Ross painting parody.

After seeing these photos, I think it’s pretty clear where he got his sense of humor from, because this guy has one funny mom.
