Teen Mom Star Amber Portwood Gets Visitation After Pleading Guilty To Domestic Violence Charges
You must have been too busy reading about Jenelle and David Eason‘s divorce yesterday and scrolling through Maci Bookout‘s cute family Halloween costume photos to catch that there was a heck of a lot more Teen Mom drama taking place on Halloween.
Amber Portwood‘s July “incident” with baby-daddy Andrew Glennon where she allegedly attacked her ex with a machete while he was holding their baby has come to a resolution and shockingly, Amber plead guilty to domestic battery and intimidation. Possibly even more shocking, Amber won’t be putting on an orange jumpsuit for the crime, either. Instead, the two felony charges have resulted in 906 days probation (a little less than two-and-a-half years), mental health and substance abuse evaluation and treatment, and court-ordered parenting classes for 26 weeks. No shade, but perhaps those parenting classes will be for the best — Amber has a strained relationship with her daughter, Leah, whose father Gary Shirley has full custody.
Amber is allowed to see her son with Andrew, James, but only when she contacts her ex through a visitation app. The two will have no direct communication and the court will be able to see all of the Teen Mom‘s communication with Andrew.
Amber hasn’t publicly spoken out about the plea deal, but her social media pages have been active with news posts about Jenelle’s split. Some fans have started circulating theories that MTV asked Jenelle to go public with her divorce yesterday to overshadow Amber’s felony charges — especially because Viacom executives don’t seem to have any intention of firing Amber from the show like they did to Farrah. Also, it was thought that MTV told Jenelle if she broke up with David, who killed their dog, she’d be welcomed back to the show.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on these Teen Mom girls because it seems like sh*t may hit the fan.
