Mom’s Target Workout Has Brought Out the Judgey Hoards

Finding the time to workout when you have kids isn’t easy. You kind of have to get it in where it fits in, you know? Plenty of parents hit the gym with or without their kids, but it’s not possible for everyone. And honestly, at the end of a long day, the last thing we want to do is exercise. One mom has found a way to get her workouts in no matter where she is, and for some reason, people are mad about it. Sia Cooper is a certified personal trainer. She posted a video of her Target workout on her Instagram account, and some people just could not deal. Live and let live, weirdos.

Sia’s Target workout is very simple: walking squats while she pushes her cart, toe-taps and leg-lifts when she reaches for items. It’s pretty ingenious, to be honest.

But of course, because no one can do a damn thing without incurring the wrath of other people these days, some IG commenters put on their judgey pants and shamed her for her Target workout. Is it really so hard to just stfu and move on if you don’t like something?

One commenter said: “This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen!! Target is a sacred place of awesomeness!! Don’t make me feel bad for roaming the aisles while snacking on cheese doodles!”

Ok, first of all, calm down. Pretty sure Sia wasn’t shaming anyone for their sacred Target rituals. If you feel bad about yourself after seeing another woman getting her fitness on in the aisles of Target, it might be a personal problem.

Someone else chimed in: “Omg! Chill people. It’s ok to do your shopping and do your squats later. There is such a thing as overkill.”

You know what? Maybe she doesn’t have time to do her squats later. Maybe she’s got a lot going on that day, but still wanted to get a small workout in. You don’t know her life!

Judgement coming in hot: “Nope. Go to the gym. I’m sorry but I don’t want to be trying to dodge moms exercising in the aisles of target while I’m trying to get my errands done. It’s one thing to do it on the sidelines of practice or something but this is too much.”

Pretty sure Sia is staying well out of the way of other shoppers or team members in the video, but mmkay. Obviously everyone everywhere should adjust their habits according to your personal preference and needs, how could we be so thoughtless!

Sia has posted other videos of herself exercising in unusual places, and seriously, what is the big deal?! If she’s not bothering people (and I mean like physically impeding someone’s space, not just annoying them), it shouldn’t be an issue.

We all have things that are important to us, and finding the time to do them is an important part of practicing self-care. Would you judge a mom for reading a book at Starbucks, if that’s her thing? No. So don’t judge a woman who’s just trying to stay fit where she can. We all love Target, and that love manifests itself in a lot of ways. Just mind your business and move along, folks. It’s not that hard.
