Suri Cruise To Start School In A Brand Spanking New Super Fancy International Campus

It’s slowly inching towards back to school time and Katie Holmes reportedly can check Suri Cruise‘s school situation off her summer to-do list. Despite speculation that young Suri was headed to Lady Gaga‘s alma mater Convent of the Sacred Heart on the Upper East Side, Katie has opted for something more downtown. But perhaps just as expensive.

New York Daily News reports that Suri will attend the much-awaited Avenues: The World School in Chelsea. The pricey private school will open its doors for the first time this fall, but has had a waiting list dating all the way back to July 2011. The $40,000 a year for-profit school also hopes to open campuses in 20 other cities around the world including Hong Kong, London, Paris, Moscow, Johannesburg, and Mumbai to name a handful. Avenues plans to emphasis bilingual education in their international “learning community,” according to their website:

Modern students must have more than a passing understanding of other cultures, speak other languages fluently and appreciate other histories…Think of Avenues as one international school with 20 or more campuses. It will not be a collection of 20 different schools all pursuing different educational strategies, but rather one highly-integrated ”learning community,” connected and supported by a common vision, a shared curriculum, collective professional development of its faculty, the wonders of modern technology and a highly-talented headquarters team located here in New York City.

A spokesperson for the school refused to confirm or deny (so that’s kind of like confirming), that Miss Cruise would be among the first incoming class to this super school. Sounds like a place where Suri can expect to pass notes with Angelina Jolie‘s brood, if you ask me. And pick up Mandarin! Passing notes in Mandarin?
