Superhero Clad Children Entertainers Save Kitten From Fire, Hopefully Earned A Fat Tip

batmanParents who are hiring clowns, superheros, or cartoon characters for kiddie birthday bashes, you never know who is under that uniform (well, hopefully you do based on pre-birthday interviews). In the case of one West Virginia neighborhood, a pair of child entertainers morphed into firefighters in a moment of crisis.

The Associated Press reports that Troy Marcum, who was dressed as Captain America, and John Buckland, who was in costume as Batman, were entertaining children at a house in the neighborhood. One home “nearby” reportedly caught fire when the men became aware of smoke.  Fully dressed in their suphero attire, the two men, along with another bystander, ran to the home, “kicked in the door and broke out a window so some smoke could escape.” That’s when they found the one and only victim:

Buckland, a former firefighter, says he crawled into the front room and felt something furry. He grabbed the animal, ran outside and gave it mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

No one was hurt in the fire, including the rescuers ”” though Buckland says the cat hissed and swatted at him when it regained consciousness.

Holy smokes, Batman! Did they STAGE this shiz? Here’s hoping no children were too frightened in the making of that otherwise awesome memory.
