Smart 6-Year-Old Girl Blows Past Middle Schoolers As She Heads To National Spelling Bee
Lori was the youngest competitor in the 34th Prince William County Spelling Bee and credits her parents with helping her prepare. And considering that the little champion is home-schooled, Mommy and Daddy have clearly been personally investing a lot in her education.
Mommy and Daddy help the kid with lists and quizzes, and Lori also boasts her good memory. She described herself as “confident” during the competition but it appears as though she didn’t underestimate those big kids because of their years. The smart little girl told Fox News that age has nothing to do with spelling capabilities, clearly:
“I was confident because I have been in spelling bees with older kids before and I judge them by who they are not about age.”
Her mother is, of course, proud of her winner but finds the stress of being a spelling bee mom a bit taxing:
“We were so proud of her. I think it was harder for us than it was for her. She was really spelling word after word, and we were all, almost having a heart attack because it is really hard to see your child up there.”
Acknowledging the awesome accomplishment of this little champion is not only called for given her merit. But Lori’s big win also shows your little girl that you don’t need to be a Kardashian to end up with some notoriety and a moment in the spotlight.
