Rick Santorum’s Daughter To Be Released From Hospital This Week

Rick Santorum has had a trying week and it has nothing to do with those poll numbers. The Republican presidential hopeful’s little girl, Bella Santorum, was rushed to the hospital last weekend after coming down with pneumonia. The special needs tot nearly died due to her genetic disorder Trisomy 18. But it looks like the toddler is going to make a full recovery.

The Washington Post reports that the father of seven had not been home since Christmas Day and that despite his daughter’s condition, this was the first time she has been hospitalized in three years. But she’s going to be just fine apparently:

”I just talked to my wife, and she’s on the mend and hopefully (will) be out of the hospital in a couple of days,” Santorum told Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly Monday night. ”So, we’re feeling very good about things.”

The former senator said that chest x-rays revealed a dramatic turn around for the 3-year-old despite her “tough time” last Saturday. Surely this news of a healthy child trumps any presidential win for the family as Santorum described her recovery as “miraculous.”
