Relax, Everyone’s Playroom Is a Mess

When my husband and I bought our house, we were so excited that the previous owners had added on a sunroom. “This will make a great playroom for the kids!” we said. And while the playroom has lived up to our expectations, it’s also the bane of my existence because it’s ALWAYS a disaster. And of course, my kids are completely unbothered by the mess, even though they literally can’t walk across the playroom without stepping on toys. To protect my blood pressure, I often just close the doors and pretend the room doesn’t exist.
A mom recently posted a jaw-dropping photo of her messy playroom on Facebook, with the caption, “What’s behind that closed door you ask? Nothing. The first rule of the playroom is we DON’T talk about the playroom.” New life motto.
Several other parents shared photos of their disaster playrooms and OMGÂ I’m so relieved to see I’m not the only one who lives this struggle. Hashtag Not Alone Hashtag Blessed.

That seems as good a place as any to nap.

Too bad that other kid didn’t have a mattress.
Messy playroom parents, I raise my bottle of wine to you.
