Finnick was one of our favorite characters in The Hunger Games. And we seriously loooooove the name Finnick. It’s one of those names that’s sort of familiar, but still rare and unique. Most people who aren’t big fans of the series probably wouldn’t even make the connection. The name itself has English and Saxon origins, and it is related to the name Fenwick, which is an old Anglo-Saxon place and surname that means “marshland farm”. But considering Finnick Odair won the whole shebang in The Hunger Games, it’s clearly a winning name. Plus, Finn or Nick as a nickname! You really can’t go wrong.
