Punk Ivanka Trump Is the Funniest Thing on the Internet Today

In an excerpt from Ivana Trump’s memoir, Raising Trump, First Lady (oops we mean daughter) Ivanka Trump revealed that she went through a “punk phase”  in the 90s. She says she was “really into Nirvana”, wore ripped jeans and flannels, and even dyed her hair blue. First of all, Nirvana isn’t punk, dear. Maybe she meant grunge? Still not believable. Now, the internet isn’t exactly sympathetic towards Ivanka. And they were not about to let this travesty stand. Thus, Punk Ivanka Trump was born. I love the internet.

In the book, Punk Ivanka Trump claims that she dyed her hair blue one day after school. Mama Ivana was not having that shit, though.

“Mom wasn’t a fan of this decision. She took one look at me and immediately went out to the nearest drugstore to buy a $10 box of Nice’n Easy. That night, she forced me to dye my hair back to blond. The color she picked out was actually three shades lighter than my natural color”¦ and I have never looked back!” Anyone who’s ever used boxed drugstore dye knows this story is bullshit. Unless Ivana used straight bleach on her hair, there’s no way she went from blue to light blonde without salon intervention. But boxed hair dye: relatable!

Look, whether or not you think Ivanka Trump actually went through a punk phase (cough, no way in hell, cough), you have to admit this is funny. We get that she wants to seem relatable, but perhaps she can try relating to people by getting her dad to stop being such a dick. Now THAT would be pretty punk.
