Prince William And Kate Middleton Don’t Need A Nanny, They Need A Servant
Reports say the couple plans on breaking with tradition by not hiring a royal nanny. I think that is pretty cool. They will just be hiring someone to do absolutely everything else that you can imagine needs to be done around the house. Seriously – everything else:
Apparently, the couple – who are expecting their first child together – want a “discreet, loyal and reliable” person to help clean and maintain their apartment in Kensington Palace and the successful candidate will also be expected to undertake tasks like cooking, driving and acting as a personal assistant.
The internal advertisement lists major housekeeping duties as polishing silver and glasses and making sure “all areas of the residence are cleaned and maintained to a high standard at all times”.
Whoever gets the job will also need to rustle up simple meals, do the couple’s laundry and exercise the Palace’s dogs.
Cook, clean, do laundry, polish silver, act as a personal assistant and walk the dogs. What else is there? On a completely unrelated note, I wish I had to “polish silver” in my house. I was totally born into the wrong social class.
I think it’s great they won’t be employing a nanny. I can almost see Diana smiling with approval. And really – did anyone expect the two to do their own laundry? That’s not very royal. If I were a Duchess I would not be folding clothes.
It is reported that 15 people have applied so far. The position is listed as being a minimum of 37 hours each week, Monday through Friday. The couple will be moving into their renovated home in Kensington Palace later this year.
