Look at Minnesota bucking the trends! Here’s a woot for the state housing the Mall of America! Their most commonly used girl’s name is Evelyn. The name was anglicized from the older ‘Aveline,’ which we think is pretty, too. Though she’s not at of the same caliber of popularity as Ava, Evelyn is the #10 most popular girls name in the United States. Since Evelyn means “wished for,” there’s a good reason why. Both the lyrical sound of the name and the beautiful meaning probably factor into it’s popularity. We’re honestly surprised Henry isn’t in more places on this list. Just think of the famous ones that come to mind without much searching. There’s Henry Kissinger, Henry Ford, swoon-worthy Henry Cavill, and Henry Winkler.
