Georgia’s most popular male and female baby names follow the Ava, William set. For a look at the recent history of names from the state, AJC says, “From 2010-2014, boys’ names such as Jacob, Noah and Mason rounded out the top spots, alongside William, according to the SSA; while girls’ names such as Ava, Isabella and Madison rounded out the top spots alongside Olivia and Emma (the No. 1s).” In 1980, not a single one of those names made the list. Instead, the reigning girls were Amanda, Jennifer, Jessica, Kimberly, and Melissa. The boys of 1980 were James, Micheal, Christopher, Jason, and John.
