This Return Receipt Proves These Parents Took That Whole ‘Naughty List’ Thing To The Next Level

Anyone who’s ever suffered through the torture of working in retail knows that Black Friday is only the beginning of a long, drawn-out, cluster eff of a month-long shopping spree, which ends with a big ol’ grand finale bang of the Post-Christmas Returns And Exchanges Extravaganza. It’s a nightmare. Though I think the kid whose parents are the featured players of this post might have it worse.

The “naughty list” is usually just one big empty threat parents keep in their back pocket throughout the holiday season. Though I’m not a parent yet, it seems to be pretty effective. I know it was on me, and I see it’s still a popular tactic with friends and relatives who have had just about enough with Christmas season whining. Well of course there’s always one kid who ruins it for everyone else, right? Right. Apparently one kid was so “naughty” his parents made him watch as they returned a Wii console he received for Christmas this year. I’ll just let this return receipt photo from Reddit do the talking:

I know I should probably be all “way harsh, Tai” about this. Actually, no, I take that back. Because this is highly entertaining and I’ve seen enough kiddie meltdowns to know that sometimes you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do. Lesson (hopefully) learned.

Though I think the real hero of this story is the cashier, who diligently typed out the greatest reason for a return ever. I know firsthand how gleeful it must have been to have one moment of entertainment during retail’s most hectic time of year. Well done.
