‘My Tram Experience’ Mom Weeps In Court Following Racist Rant

“My Tram Experience” has received more than 11 million views since being posted to YouTube last Sunday. The shocking video shows 34-year-old British mother Emma West abusing fellow passengers with a two-and-a-half-minute racist rant as a small child sits quietly on her lap.

Thanks to the video, West was charged with a racially aggravated public order offense (she has not yet pleaded). She appeared in a South London court today and, according to reports, bowed her head and wept as three magistrates watched the disturbing footage.

West, who had friends and family there to support her, was remanded in custody and will appear at a committal hearing on January 3. West’s solicitor David Ewings made a bail application, which was denied by the magistrate to protect her safety.

If you’re one of the 11 million-plus people who’s watched the video, you’ll understand why this woman’s safety is most definitely at risk. She placed herself in serious danger by spewing such hatred and I truly believe that the only thing that protected her from being attacked was her child’s presence (which, by the way, brings the  incident to a whole new level of disturbing).
