Mother-Daughter Fashion Success: Meryl Streep’s Daughters Chose That Winning Oscar Dress
Meryl’s girls reportedly took one look at what their mother was planning to wear for the big night and vetoed the outfit. Streep’s team apparently refuses to name the designer or style of the dress. But with the help of Mamie and Grace, Meryl eventually selected that gold lame Lanvin gown made from plastic water bottles. Sources also suggest that another reason Meryl wasn’t all that invested in her red carpet look is that she was certain that Viola Davis was slated to win. I suppose if anyone would say “oh, I’ll just wear this old thing” to the Oscars it would be the iconic Meryl Streep.
But not only did Meryl’s daughters choose to encase their talented mother in gold, but their color choice seemed to foreshadow her big win that evening. What really is more fitting than accomplished actress and mother Meryl sauntering off resembling the honor that she was practically fashioned to achieve?
That her daughters picked that dress. That’s what.
