Mom’s Web Comics Hit the Parenting Nail on the Head
(Facebook/Hedger Humor)
As we all know, parenting is a struggle. Our kids can make us laugh, cry, laugh until we’re crying, and cry until we’re laughing. And cartoonist Adrienne Hedger knows this. She’s an expert at capturing all the very real experienced we all have as adults just trying to get by with these tiny, little humans in tow. And if you haven’t already happened upon some of her cartoons, you really need to start checking them out.
Hedger is the creator of Hedger Humor, a web-based cartoon series that focuses on the ins and outs of parenting. The mother of two (plus one dog) expertly depicts mamahood in a new comic every week on her website and social media pages. Her comics focus on everything you might experience with a toddler to a teen, so they resonate with plenty of parents.
”I want my cartoons to create connections between people and foster a sense of ”˜we’re all in this together,’” said Hedger in an interview with the Huffington Post.
And if you read some of them, you’ll quickly realize she’s totally on point with this. For the record, I have not stopped laughing from reading each and every one of these.
Like this one about kids faking sick:
And this one about appreciating our kids while they’re still teeny…
And this one about cute kid-isms…
Or this one:
And she captures the reality of siblings and trying to keep your cool.
