Modern Family Lets The Kids Accept Their Screen Actors Guild Award

Tonight, the SAG Awards happened. The most relaxed and quirky of the big awards shows lets actors socialize and applaud one another for their amazing achievements. (Yay for the people making more money than I’ll ever see in my life!)

But seriously, adorableness happened at that stage tonight. It looks like the casts of TV’s hit shows have realized just how talented their youngest co-workers are. The ensemble awards for television went to Modern Family and Boardwalk Empire, and both shows took extra effort to thank and recognize the children in their casts.

Steve Buscemi, winning both a Best Actor and a Best Ensemble award thanked the kids of his show by name and then lifted each one up in celebration while standing at the awards podium. Even though it made one of the little girl’s dresses fly above her head, you could tell that the gesture meant a lot to the young actors.

The cast of Modern Family, winning their second consecutive SAG Award, let the youngsters give the entire acceptance speech. Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez and Ariel Winter had a planned skit that was both sweet and comical. It was wonderful to see the adults stand back and let these truly talented kids shine.
