Fred Rogers made friends at his alma mater, Latrobe High School. He became more popular in high school, especially since one of his friends was the captain of the football team. He took on more leadership roles in high school, including Student Council President, National Honor Society, and Editor-In-Chief for the school yearbook. Rogers attended Dartmouth College for one year, but he graduated from Rollins College in 1951. Unsurprisingly, he earned his degree in music composition. His newfound confidence helped him pursued a career in television immediately after graduation. He worked in New York City before moving back to Pittsburgh two years later to create The Children’s Corner.
