Mindy McCready Feared Losing Custody Of Her Beloved Sons Just Days Before Taking Her Own Life
Details are emerging regarding the death of troubled country music singer, Mindy McCready. Just days before she took her own life from a self-inflicted gunshot wound McCready was served with court papers suggesting that her two sons, Zander, age six, and Zayne, 10 months, be placed in the custody of her mother.
This new information sheds light on the sad end of a life that was riddled with tragedy. Already dealing with her drug and alcohol problem plus the loss of boyfriend David Wilson, the threat of losing her boys may have been too much for her to take.
McCready sent an email to her friend saying, “The most important thing are my babies must come home.”
The state of McCready’s living conditions were far from pretty. According to a police source, the Arkansas home where McCready was found was filthy, filled with spoiled food and dog feces with prescription bottles everywhere. This is the same home where Wilson also committed suicide just weeks before. The singer had fought substance abuse for years and had just recently been to a court appointed rehab program.
Her estranged mother, Gayle Inge, was at one time the legal guardian of her son, Zander. McCready was charged with parental abduction in 2011 when she fled with Zander after a visit. It seems the threat of losing her children yet again may have been the final straw for the fallen star.
