Mike Pence Elbowed a Kid in the Face by Accident and the Kid Wasn’t Having It

Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States, is used to figuratively slapping people across the face with his hateful policies and rhetoric, but he doesn’t strike me as the type of person who literally gets physical (you know, because cooties). So maybe he can be forgiven for not realizing he accidentally bonked a kid in the nose, but the boy he hit wasn’t having it. No, this pint-sized hero chased the VP around until he got the apology he deserved.

On Tuesday, Pence hosted military families at the White House to celebrate National Military Spouse Appreciation Day. He welcomed the assorted families from a podium, where he was surrounded by children. Such a precious photo op! As Pence wrapped up his remarks, he said, “Thank you very much, God bless you, and God bless all these wonderful kids who did such a great job!” He put his arms out in a “look at all these kids” gesture, and accidentally hit a little boy right in the kisser.

Clearly an accident. But the little boy was like, “Ummmm you hit me. Where’s my apology?” That’s not a joke. The kid literally chased Pence around the event, demanding an apology. The patriots at HuffPost put together a video and I legit howled while I watched it.

I just love how he politely follows the VP around the room all, “Excuse me! Excuse me! YOU OWE ME AN APOLOGY.”

At 40 seconds into the video, the little boy rolls his eyes SO hard that I almost spit out my drink. Like, he just CANNOT believe how the VP has the nerve to kiss babies and greet other kids instead of telling him he’s sorry! HOW DARE HE.

In the end, the little boy got the apology he so desperately sought.

I'm sorry little bro

Even Mike Pence can do the right thing once in awhile.
