Kensington Palace Responds To Rumors About Baby Sussex Being Raised ‘Gender Fluid’
Now, listen. We love any news about Meghan Markle and Baby Sussex as much as they next fan. We don’t have our own royal family, so it’s fun to follow along with the one from across the pond! Plus, babies. Who doesn’t love babies?! Ever since Meghan and Harry announced the pregnancy, we’ve kept up with the news. But we have to take a lot of it with a grain of salt. Like, we know Meghan had a stateside baby shower, but we don’t know that the flowers were a gender clue, as has been reported. Last week, a report came out that said the couple was planning on taking a “gender fluid” approach with Baby Sussex, which is a cool idea! But Kensington Palace is not here to play, and they’ve since spoken out against the rumor.
Meghan Markle doesn’t comment on her personal life. But Kensington Palace has her back.

Vanity Fair reported last week that the royal couple was planning on raising their baby “gender fluid”. That seems like a lot of information from a notoriously private couple, but who knows? Definitely sounds like something progressive Meghan and Harry would be on board with. We know that they’re planning to have a gender-neutral nursery with whites and grays as opposed to pinks and blues. That’s a pretty popular choice with parents now!
But a “source close to the couple” was quoted in the article, and said that Meghan and Harry were taking it even farther. According to Vanity Fair, “Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby. Her exact word was fluid. She said they plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender and they won’t be imposing any stereotypes.” That’s … very specific!
Well, as it turns out, VF’s source was full of malarkey. Kensington Palace broke royal protocol to comment on the rumors.

Kensington Palace isn’t really in the business of responding to or debunking every royal rumor. God, could you imagine how much work that would be?! But in this case, they were pretty quick to squash this particular story. The palace issued a very curt, “This is totally false.” in response to the VF story. Not sure why they picked this particular rumor to respond to, but there you have it! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not planning on a “gender fluid” upbringing for Baby Sussex. Or maybe they are and it’s just none of anyone’s business!
