This Hotline Will Text Creeps That Make You Uncomfortable So You Don’t Have To

If there anything worse than come creeper dude pestering you when you just want to enjoy your margarita in peace with your girlfriends? We’ve all been there. You’re out for a girls’ night, and some guy asks for your number. You say no, so he asks again. And again. And then things can get pretty scary. You can either keep rejecting him and risk your personal safety, or you can relent and give him your number (and then immediately block him when he calls or texts). It’s one of those all-too-familiar situations that almost all women have dealt with, and it sucks. But a new hotline is here to put an end to it. The Mary Sue Rejection Hotline will send a text to creepy dudes telling them to back off for you.

The Mary Sue Rejection Hotline will play a message when called, or reply with a text if messaged.

The message and text say, “Oh hello there. If you’re hearing this message, you’ve made a woman feel unsafe and/or disrespected. Please learn to take no for an answer and respect women’s emotional and physical autonomy. K THANKKS.” Now, if the asshole calls the number, he’ll hear the message right away. But, if he sends a text, the service waits a full hour before replying back. That at least gives you enough time to get out of the area before the creep gets the message.

We haaaaaaaate that there’s even a need for a service like this. But we’re glad it exists. It can be really, really scary to find yourself on the receiving end of unwanted romantic advances, and some guys just don’t care that no means no. So ladies, use the MSR Hotline as needed. And guys, heed this: when a woman says she’s not interested, just go the fuck away. Quickly.
