42 Pictures That’ll Either Make Married People Laugh Or Cry Or Both

We are gathered here to today to talk about marriage. The ups, the downs, the good, the bad and the ugly. Marriage, in and of itself is a beautiful thing. Two people coming together, ready to share the rest of their lives with one another. Its a commitment to love, cherish and always take care of your spouse. After first getting married, you and your partner enter the “honeymoon” phase of your marriage. You’re newlyweds! Everything is beautiful. Perhaps you even both are ready to start a family! The thing about marriage, though, is that just like the waves on a beach, it ebbs and flows.

You’re going to have highs and you are going to have low moments. It’s all part of marriage. That butterflies in the stomach feeling you both felt when you first got married, it comes and goes. Instead, it is replaced by a sort of contentment and a deeper love for each other. One that grows more and more over time. It’s all about taking in the little things you both do for each other. Over the years you grow closer, and your love for one another deepens. Marriage can also have its really funny moments, too. You’ll have moments where both of you will burst out laughing until there are tears in your eyes. We’ve found some of the most hilarious pictures about marriage that you can totally relate to!

I Asked You First

Dinner, marriage

Oh, the joy that comes with choosing what is for dinner. Unless you’ve planned your meals in advance, you are likely to have this conversation at least three times a week. You’ve both come home from work and have no idea what dinner is going to be. There is food in the house, but neither of you know what the other wants. So, a conversation like the above image ensues. Sure, there are some leftovers in the refrigerator, but no one is sure how old they are. After going back and forth for about half an hour, you both decide on Chinese takeout.

Marriage Memes

We always have our phones with us, you know just in case an important call comes through. Or you just unlocked that new level in Candy Crush, or of course, memes. Everybody loves memes, they are almost always guaranteed to make you laugh out loud. But the point here is, if our spouse is in another room, where you are not, you can just easily text each other memes. Then you can shout to each other from different rooms about who’s meme was the funniest one. Memes and funny photos, strengthening marriage, one hilarious picture at a time. Who knew?

He Wasn’t Wrong

spaghetti, dinner, stove
Image: Twitter / Wendy Rollins

Couples love to mess around with each other, and in hilarious ways, and it just gets better over the years. Hey, technically, she asked him to put spaghetti on the stove. That is technically what this woman’s husband did. It is little things like this that make marriage a fun adventure. Something new, every single day. If you two share a sense of humor, that is something to cherish. It’s always fun to play an innocent prank or two on your partner every now and then! Laughter and being able to laugh with each other is so important in a marriage!

It’s The Little Things They Do

fireplace, handmade
Image: Imgur / TheDoctorwholived

Sometimes it is not about words, but rather actions. A woman wanted a fireplace for Christmas, as a place to hang stockings up. So her partner set out to work on a special gift to her. He built her a “fireplace” made entirely out of cardboard. The craftsmanship on it is amazing! Even though she can’t exactly light the fireplace, the gesture is a lovely one. Take some electric tealights and put them behind the fake fire, and you have a perfect spot to cuddle, in front of a not-so-roaring fire. Sometimes it isn’t so much about talking, but listening. This guy clearly listened to his girl and made her this beautiful piece.

Send Help!

Craft stores are havens for hobbyists. Whether you paint, make jewelry, weave baskets or burn wood, a craft store is a place where you can go wild. We could spend hours and hours just wandering around a craft store, taking in all the glory that it contains. But sometimes, when we bring along our spouses, unless they’re crafters too, they can get bored pretty quickly. One person found a cure for their boredom when they found an aisle full of letters. He sent a distress signal to whoever walks down this aisle. Hopefully, it will be their partner. Ready to checkout.

Twinsies!

The great thing about marriage is that the longer you’ve been together, the more fun you can have with each other.  Because you learn more and more about your partner, you can totally have fun with it! This couple, for example, has collectively decided that they wanted to share with the world how long they have been together. But they did it in a really cute way, with each shirt being part of the number of the year they got together. This is an adorable way to grow old together, while still having lots of fun with it!  We love it!

Cold Feet, Warm Body

We all know that feeling of freezing our cold feet off. Especially in the winter. Sometimes the blankets aren’t thick enough, and we just can’t get ourselves warm. You know the feeling we’re talking about. Cue sticking our cold feet onto our partner’s back. They are so warm. How do they stay so warm?! If you are looking for an effective way to wake your partner up in the morning, cold feet will work nearly all the time! But for real though, snuggling and cuddling together is a very effective way to keep each other warm when it is freezing cold outside.

Take The Hoodie

Image: Instagram / @marriage.memes

Oh, hoodies. They are undoubtedly one of the best things ever invented. Are you cold? Throw on a hoodie. Want to go totally casual and dress down for the day? Yup, grab that hoodie. They are so comfortable! For some reason, they are doubly comforting when they are our partner’s hoodie. Perhaps its because it belongs to the person we love, and that gives us comfort. Whatever the reason, we love to grab their hoodie on the way out the door. They are warm and snuggly, and most definitely something that we probably won’t ever stop stealing. We love them!

A Symbol Of Love

chicken nuggets
Image: Twitter / @mychaelfuller

Clearly the way to anybody’s heart is chicken nuggets. Why? They are tasty and portable little chicken morsels. Some nuggets and your favorite dipping sauce, and you have got yourself a delicious meal. We love this hilarious idea of a chicken nugget “bouquet.” Someone clearly knows the way to their partner’s heart, or stomach. Probably a little of both. They loved them so much that they decided to make a rather unconventional bouquet. They even tied it up in a pretty little bow with some red ribbon. We wonder if they brought along some sweet honey mustard dipping sauce for their honey?

Of Course You’re Their Valentine

Valentine's card, love
Image: Twitter / @thatclassygirl_

Well, of course they are going to be your Valentine! The card says there is no choice involved! This sweet but sassy card drives the point home in a hilarious way. Every Valentine’s Day from the day you are married, you will always be each other’s Valentine! As each year passes, the opportunity brings new and exciting things to do with each other on that special day! Whether you write notes, exchange gifts or enjoy a nice and quiet dinner together, you each have a permanent Valentine in each other. We love this card because it is so funny and cute!

Its Nacho Cheese!

nachos, marriage
Image: Funnyfoto.org

How true this is! Nachos are quite a delicious snack, and of course you are going to be scrambling to get the cheesiest chips first! Those are the best ones! You look each other lovingly in the eyes, your hands touch, and then you realize they were going for the same chip you were. Then it becomes a game of “you have it!” and “no you take it, really!” Eventually you just break the chip in half and share it. Because that is what true love is all about, splitting the nacho chips evenly down the middle. But you have to count each chip. You’ve got to make sure you each have an even number, right?

Itsy Bitsy Spider

spider, husband, marriage
Image: Imgur / anlyin

You are on your laptop, scrolling through Facebook, when suddenly you notice movement out of the corner of your eye. You turn your head to see, only to be greeted by a gigantic spider, running across your living room floor. No one else is home, it’s just you and Mr. eight legs over there. If you’re skittish around spiders, then this can be a really freaky situation. So, the obviously logical solution is to take your kid’s beach sand bucket and flip it over on that sucker. Now it’s trapped until hubby gets home, then he can take care of it.

Museum of What?!

Image: Imgur / spikeypeach

It is so important to be able to have a sense of humor in your marriage. Especially when you have kids. You have got to have the opportunity to embarrass your kids every once in a great while, right? These two, who have been married for 42 years, saw the title of this museum, and instantly saw a photo opportunity that they could not pass up! It’s incredible to see that even after all those years together, they still have a thriving sense of humor. This photo has us laughing out loud. This is definitely one to keep for the family photo album!

Sharing Almost Everything

cake, marriage
Image: Sunnyskyz.com

A lot of people will tell you that marriage is about sharing everything. Well, almost everything. When it comes to cake, all bets are off. Sweet and delicious, we begin our married relationship by sharing cake with each other at our wedding. It is a time honored tradition. However, after the wedding bells have rung, all bets are off. When you have a sweet tooth and they have already had their fair share of cake, it is time for them to move on and find another snack. This person clearly isn’t messing around, and wants to make sure that their cake stays untouched.

Compromise

Image: Instagram / @jpemolloy

Marriage is all about compromise. You are both obviously not going to like the exact same things, that would just make life kind of boring and rather dull. Like the example up above, pickles. One of you likes them and the other just does not. Perhaps they enjoy pickled pig’s feet instead. It is fun to have variety in a marriage, especially when it comes to different foods! You can dare each other to try new things! Hey, if you do not like what you try? That is okay! Because you know your partner will eat them, pickles and all.

It’s 50/50

marriage, sharing, kids
Image: Instagram / @housewife_plus

Marriage is about sharing with each other. We should share everything with our partner. Our love, devotion, laundry days, and of course when the kids are going after each other. That sweet, sweet sound of fighting over who gets the television or something silly like that. If you are a stay-at-home mom, you are probably totally used to this by now. But if your partner works and then comes home to the kids acting up, you can just say, “your turn, honey,” and sashay away to grab a glass of wine. You definitely want to see how this one unfolds.

Intimacy Interrupted

kid, child,
Image: Instagram / prettyokaydads

Going back to talking about that “honeymoon” phase of marriage, you and your partner were probably very intimate, very often. But then the children came along, and everything changed. When you have kids, it can be hard to find the time to incorporate intimacy back into your marriage. It may sound like they are all tucked safely into their beds, fast asleep. So you and your partner try to have a little fun, and then suddenly there is a tiny knock at your bedroom door. Definitely not going to be getting around to anything tonight! A solution, though? Have the kids spend a fun weekend at their grandparents, so you and your love can reconnect.

Have A Safe Place

Hey,  we were just trying to rearrange the house a little. This can really go both ways, though. Either of you can lose an item, it could be because one of you moved it. Perhaps without really thinking about it, or maybe because you were trying to clean up a little. Either way, the item in question has to be somewhere around the house, doesn’t it? The challenge is to find where exactly it ended up in your house. You could totally make that into a game! Hide-and-go-seek-where-the-hell-are-my-keys?! Grab the whole family for game time! Fun times are here again!

Maybe It’s Not

Laundry, the enemy of everyone, everywhere. It always seems like it is a never-ending chore. Perhaps that is what it is. The washing machine being a vortex that sucked us into an alternate dimension, where the laundry is never done. Conspiracy theories aside, folding laundry isn’t usually that big of a deal. Shirts, pants, towels? They’re all easy-peasy to fold. Even blankets and top sheets are fine. But when it comes to fitted sheets? That is a whole new ballgame, my friend. How in the world are you supposed to fold one of these things, anyway? Is it magic? It’s got to be magic.

Lovingly Annoying

marriage, annoying
Image: Funnyand.com

Once we find our true love, it typically finds you both marrying each other. Once you are married, though, you get to learn all about your partner’s little quirks that you had not known about before, and vice versa. Marriage is a fun way to learn what annoys your partner the most. Then you can mess with them from time to time for a little fun. Because what is a marriage without a little annoyance now and then? It is all meant to be taken in good stride, a game, if you will. You chose your special person, and they also chose you. Now you get to annoy each other for the rest of your lives together!

Not Mad Anymore

food, husband
Image: me.me

There is an old adage that says “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” But why should the guys get all the yummy food? Us ladies can most definitely enjoy a juicy bacon cheeseburger every now and then! But the point here is, couples fight. It can’t be butterflies and roses all the time. But when your partner brings you food after an argument, it is definitely a sign of true love right there. You can laugh about whatever silly thing it was you were arguing about in the first place over a bucket of fried chicken.

Just 5 More Minutes

It sure is funny how quickly time can fly! It is finally date night for you and your partner. You definitely want to make this special, so you take some extra time to pamper yourself a little bit. Because, you know, you want to look your best for your love. First we pick out an outfit, take a shower, moisturize, and then there is the matter of doing our hair. Plus, then we have to put on makeup, if you are into that. But us ladies have to take our time when getting ready! Even though we may be married, we still want to look good for our partners!

Gotta Get Recharged

phone, recharge, marriage
Image: me.me

Typically, when we head to bed, we go to sleep and we are “recharging” ourselves for the next day. But there is also the matter of also charging our phones or tablets. Did you see what we did there? Heh, yeah, moving on now. Our favorite position is anywhere that is close to an outlet, so we can charge our electronics. Seriously, we can’t go to bed until we finish this level of Candy Crush! Plus, if you are using your phone as an alarm to get up in the morning, it has to be charged, right? Dead battery means getting up late. It could throw off your whole day.

Work Together

Image: Twitter / @XplodingUnicorn

Marriage requires teamwork. There is no doubting that. Both of you have to put effort into the marriage to make it work. But when it comes to building stuff or doing a house project together? We’re in a whole new dimension, now, buddy. Inevitably, somebody is going to be in the way, or hand their partner the wrong tool to do the job. Shelving units may be put in upside down, who knows what else could go wrong! If it can be a one person job, then let it be. It is probably better off that way, anyhow. Trust us on this one.

You’ll Need A Cart

store, shopping
Image: Instagram / stronger_marriages

Pro tip guys: always grab a cart! Even if we say we do not need one, we will inevitably need that cart very soon. Yes, while there may be only a few items on our shopping list, there is always something that will catch our eye, or something that we forgot to add to the list. Before you know it, we are hauling an armful of stuff around the store, trying to balance it all. So, definitely grab that shopping cart the minute you set foot into the store, because you just never know what we are going to find.

That’s A Lot Of Maybes

marriage, argue
Image: Pinterest / Bill Schnippert

As we have stated before, all couples argue, its a part of being married. We usually fight over silly stuff that could easily be solved. But sometimes, you have to try and add some levity to the situation. The example in the photo above is a hilariously funny idea to try. However, it does come with some risk. If it makes your partner laugh, then it was totally worth it. Or it could just possibly make your partner madder than before. It’s kind of a toss-up, really. May the odds be ever in your favor. We wish you luck.

A Word Of Advice

marriage, advice, snacks
Image: Instagram / @alivingwellco

Husbands, picture this. You and your partner are on a road trip, and you stop to fill your tank up at the nearest gas station. You head inside to use the restroom. On your way back out, you spot a bag of beef jerky calling out to you. So, you grab it and get up to the register. But then you realize maybe your wife wants a snack too, maybe? Don’t overthink it. She definitely wants a snack. It is a small gesture that will go a long way, trust us on this.  Grab her something sweet, or maybe a bag of chips. She will love you even more than she did before.

Role Reversal

oil, marriage, husband
Image: me.me

At some point in our married lives, us ladies will have to send our husbands out to pick up items for “that time of the month.” This should include a pint of death by chocolate ice cream. Anyway, it can be incredibly confusing for our husbands to know what exactly to pick up. There are quite a few brands with plenty of differing options. The same goes for purchasing items for your car. Unless you are a mechanic, in which case, this task would be totally easy! But seriously, how can there be so many different brands and options out there?

Power!

groceries, husband, wife
Image: Facebook / A Sorta Star Wars Podcast

Weekly grocery shopping is just one of the fun perks that come with marriage and parenting (if you have children). Our carts are always full, and then we come home with the groceries. When we ask our husbands to come out and help us carry the groceries inside the house, they try to get them all. Every. Single. Bag. Guys, it is totally okay to make two or more trips to the car to empty it of groceries! Seriously, don’t hurt yourself trying to lug all of the groceries in at once! Plus, we would hate for you to drop the milk!

Seriously?

driving, marriage
Image: Instagram / @alrightmom

Ah, the ages-old argument about who is the better driver. Is it men, or is it women? Both, its both, because its all about how you’re taught to drive. But still our better halves always seem to make one statement or another about our driving skills. One or two comments are okay. By the third time, you are ready to pull the car to the side of the road and tell them to drive. But we just kind of roll with it, avoiding an argument on something so silly. We’ll just remember what to say for the next time when our sweetheart’s are driving and we aren’t.

These Darn Phones

phone, emoji
Image: Instagram / @sarcastic_mommy

With phones these days, when we are typing something, it can easily go awry. One small touch and you are telling your significant other that you “dove” them so much, instead of love. You have to love auto-correct. Our cell phones think that they know better things to say than we do! It almost makes you want to go back to the age of flip-phones, when we really couldn’t make mistakes when texting someone! But we can’t get any of those awesome apps on a flip-phone. So, even though auto-correct makes us want to throw our phones sometimes, we’ll keep them, along with our husbands.

One Minute…

Image: Pinterest / мαяу

Why, yes, we would love to slip into something more comfortable, thank you for asking! Preferably our favorite stretchy pants and a long tee-shirt. That would be really nice, after a long day of being stuck in business clothes, or tight jeans all day long. Then we can hop onto the couch and get really comfortable, with a nice hot cup of tea and the television remote. Definitely sounds like a plan to us!  Could you pop some popcorn while you are in the kitchen, honey? We are queuing up our Netflix now! An impromptu cuddle session is always nice, too!

He Likes The Front Seat

dog, husband, car
Image: Instagram / @agirlsnightin

We have got to show our furbabies some love, too! Maybe Fido likes to ride in the front seat, feel the wind on his face and watch everything pass by. Although, it sure does not look like that pup is wearing a seat belt. Safety first! Maybe he is just waiting for his extra-large fry with an ice cold drink? Perhaps this dog would be more suited to ride in the backseat, so hubby can have his spot back. He is not looking too happy sitting back there. You can’t blame him, he literally “took a backseat” to a dog!

Hope He Doesn’t Look

clothes, marriage
Image: YourTango

Hey, it happens. We are out running errands, and we drive by our favorite little clothing store. You notice they are having an amazing sale and that display in the front window? Gorgeous. So, you just pop in, vowing only to look around. But then you find an amazing outfit. So, naturally, you try it on. The thing is, it looks so good on you that you have to buy it. There’s plenty of room in the closet for more clothes! When your husband gets home and asks how your day went, you can tell him it was a wonderful day. Sneak the clothes in after he goes to work in the morning!

He’s Getting Married, Like Us

money, spending
Image: FunnyFoto.org

Its not just us ladies that can do some hardcore shopping. When our husbands go out, they can get a little crazy with the shopping, too. But instead of spending money on clothes, some of their purchases can be pretty out there. Sometimes its on stuff like tools, or items for a hobby they have. But THE DOG IS GETTING MARRIED. He obviously needs a tuxedo. We’re assuming the husband is going to act as best man, and maybe hubby can talk his wife into being a bridesmaid, or even maid of honor? Exactly how much mutt marriage going to cost, anyway?

Wining

husband, wine
Image: Instagram / @wivesnightin

It is really all about the little things that you do for each other. That is what makes a marriage work. You set the DVR to record his favorite show, and out of the blue, he comes home with a bottle of your favorite wine. You see, it is these small acts of kindness, they are not actually small at all. These moments add up and create something huge. It creates a deeper love for each other, one to cherish and to hold onto. For these are the moments that you will both remember. Now, if we could only find that bottle opener.

You Have To Think About It

zombies,marriage
Image: Instagram / @cooleddie_74

Oh, we have watched enough movies and television shows about zombies to know a thing or two about them. We should obviously carry a crossbow and drive a motorcycle to get away from the flesh-eaters. When you start to think about it, you begin to wonder. Will your spouse have your back when the zombie apocalypse arrives? Technically, they did marry you for better or for worse, so all signs point to yes. First you both have to find a safe-house to stay in. Then you two get to argue about who is going on the next supply run. Ah, marriage, even withstanding the zombie apocalypse!

This Marriage Is Lit

newlyweds, marriage
Image: Facebook / All The Discoveries

Who knew that marriage could be so amazingly awesome? Flies are notoriously hard to catch. So props to anyone who can get close enough to kill one in your home. But being married is pretty cool, especially when you are married to your best friend. High-fives, secret handshakes and funny dances are all part of the package when you get married! This is another one of those “little things” moments that you should hold onto, along with the flyswatter, of course. We don’t want any other insects running about the house. But if they should, at least you know your husband has mad bug killing skills.

Sharing Is Caring

bed space, sharing a bed

Sharing a bed with another person is easy! It is really not as bad as our partner’s make it out to be. But I mean, if they snore, that gives us the right to steal a pillow from them, right? Anyway, we are just trying to get comfortable. Sometimes that takes a bit of tossing and turning ourselves around. That and maybe a leg and an arm draped over our partner. With a little bit of stealing their blanket thrown in. Then we are finally comfortable. Hey, we are just trying to be close to them! Nothing wrong with that, right?

Sharing And Baring It All

married life, sick
Image: Pinterest / Stephanie Joan

Once you get married, you two will share everything with each other, and we do mean everything. It’s part of marriage. Who else is going to run out and get Pepto-Bismol for you at 6 in the morning? That is the thing about being married, you two vowed to take care of each other for better or for worse, in sickness and in health. Even if the “worse” is having your wife look at that mole you have, or her talking about what went down in the bathroom earlier that day. Taking care of each other is what marriage is all about.

It Be Like…

marriage
Image: Instagram / @lifelinediaries

When we wake up, each day is totally different. We do not know exactly how we are going to feel when we hop out of bed in the morning. Unless you are a morning person. Everybody needs alone time, even married couples. You can read by yourself, or pick up a hobby. So, if you are not feeling particularly chatty in the morning, do like this says. Make some coffee, and excuse yourself from the room. Caffeine can be a miracle worker. Who knows, maybe it is possible that the coffee will supercharge you into feeling a little better! You never know, right?

It’s A Secret

candy
Image: Instagram / @marriedlifeomg

They say that we should not keep secrets from our spouse. Except when we explicitly ask them to do just that. Take for example the above, asking them to hide candy and junk food from us, because we know it is not good for us. Then they do what we ask them to, and it ultimately leads to an argument. Let’s hope that he finally gave up the ghost and told her where that candy was! It is just downright silly to have a fight over candy. Unless they are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Then, you know, now its on.

Life Is A Highway

Image: Instagram / @momtribevibe

Road trips can be a lot of fun! That is, if you are on the right road. If you do not own a GPS, and your husband asks you to find the way to where you are going, you can always Mapquest it. But in the end, it won’t matter anyway. Somehow you two might end up lost. Then he will insist that he knows where he is going, and will drive past every gas station, refusing to ask for directions. Married life can be a whole lot of fun. Sometimes it can drive you crazy! Pun totally intended right there.
