This 120 Second ‘Lights Out’ Movie Is So Scary You Will Sleep With The Lights On For Days

Lights Out Video UGH Internet! Here I was, minding my own mumsy biz, and I came across this short film that truly scared me, which isn’t easy to do because I’m old and jaded and I find many things based in fiction so not scary. I love horror movies and all that but I haven’t been truly scared by one in ages and this short film by director David F. Sandberg changed all that. Eep. I hope there are lots of people out there Rick Rolling people with it because it truly made me jump and freaked me out.

WARNING: It’s scary

Lights Out – Who’s There Film Challenge (2013) from David F. Sandberg on Vimeo.

Argh! It’s scary but I will probably show it to my kids because they also love horror and it’s not gratuitous or gory and I think it fabulously illustrates how you can effectively tell a story in a very limited time frame.

The movie was the top winner for best director in the BC Horror Challenge and now I’m going to have to watch all of them to see the other entrants. And remember to sleep with my hall light on because this little movie truly scared me and I’m a baby and I’m pretty sure if I turn the lights on in the middle of the night something like that creepy thing will be standing next to my bed. Hold me?

Oh Man, I watched the grand prize winner and if there is one thing I do not like and do not want it’s talking dolls. I hope I have effectively ruined your morning now.

Feel free to tell me if you were also scared or if you now hate me and want to discuss sunshine, puppies and kittens.
