Heaven Help Us, Kris Jenner’s Talk Show Actually Got Picked Up

Kris JennerThere have been rumors for months that Kris Jenner was going to be getting into the daytime talk show game. We’ve been patiently giving these rumors the side eye, hoping they slink away back to the pit of D-List Celebrity Gossip where they belong. Instead, it looks like our fears are becoming reality. ‘Kris‘ is getting a test run this summer on Fox stations around the country.

If there is any person in the world who shouldn’t have a platform with which to disseminate advice, it’s Kris Jenner. This is the mom who shames her daughter’s weight so that they can shill diet pills. This is the mom who turns every moment into a marketing opportunity. This is the mom who plays pimp to her children. And honestly, I don’t want her teaching a bunch of other mothers her skills. I don’t want to see more exploited teenagers and reality show wannabes.

When explaining his decision to give Jenner an additional five hours a week in your living rooms, Twentieth TV executive Stephen Brown said,

”The latest adventures, successes and disappointments surrounding the extensive Kardashian and Jenner family fill entertainment magazines and create daily online headlines.”

”At the center of this fascinating empire is Kris Jenner a dedicated mom and a successful business woman. Whether offering real advice to her family or sharing personal moments with viewers, Kris is honest, compelling, entertaining, and unscripted all excellent qualities for a daytime talk show host.”

In other words, she’s dying for attention and she’ll do anything to get it. I guess that’s a quality that producers are looking for, but that doesn’t mean we have to like it.

‘Kris’ won’t actually be the first time Jenner has hosted daytime. She did a stint co-hosting at The Talk, the “support group for moms” that has a hard time keeping its members – and its viewers. Back then, we weren’t sure why anyone would want to listen to Jenner. Now, we’re even more confused about the draw this manipulative woman seems to have.

Let’s all just hope that Jenner’s talk show goes the way of Bethenny Frankel‘s. We don’t need more reality mamas trying to take over the world.
