Krim Family Grandma Isn’t As Worried About Her Surviving Granddaughter As You Are

A few days following the memorial service for 6-year-old Lucia Krim and 2-year-old Leo Krim who were allegedly stabbed to death by their nanny, the Krim grandmother has spoken. In a joint statement, Marina Krim and Kevin Krim asked for the privacy of their 3-year-old daughter Nessie Krim who will no doubt be the subject of further press scrutiny as she makes her way in the world. As she begins to truly grapple with the demise of her siblings — and the chance luck of not being in that apartment that afternoon — I can only imagine what emotions await her. But Kevin Krim’s mother says that she isn’t losing sleep about the well-being of her surviving granddaughter.

The grandmother explains:

“I have seen her and she will be fine, she has wonderful parents,” the children’s paternal grandmother Karen Krim told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview on Wednesday from her home in Camarillo, California. “She will have lots of love and will be fine…Under the circumstances, we are all doing as well as can be expected,” revealed the 68-year-old.

I suppose tremendous parenting, especially in the face of something so horrific, can give anyone such confidence. The Krims have already demonstrated a frankly herculean ability to think of others in their own period of profound loss. And how a father managed to address the guests at the memorial for his brutally slain children remains something I cannot yet fathom. But if even Grandma Karen isn’t wringing her hands over the future of Nessie, then I guess I should stop too.
