Kate Gosselin Wishes Twins a Happy Birthday and All 3 of Them Get Attacked for It
The Gosselin twins Mady and Cara celebrated their 17th birthday a few days ago. Mom Kate Gosselin took to Instagram to share some birthday love for the almost-adults in a gushing post. Totally sweet and normal, right? Well, if you’re Kate Gosselin and the mere mention of your name incites fury within people, not so much. Instead of just scrolling on by, people took the opportunity to attack Kate, ask inappropriate questions, and even make snarky comments about the girls. Because internet, we suppose.
Kate Gosselin shared a cute throwback photo of the young ladies, with a very mom-like caption.

….And then you blink, and they TURN SEVENTEEN!! Happy birthday to my girls! My heart hurts because you're almost adults and will soon leave for college, yet it smiles because I am seeing who you've become: brilliant, beautiful, kind, caring, logical, responsible, empathetic, honest, amazing individuals! We’ve all shared similar posts about our kids, loved ones, friends. It’s what you do on someone’s birthday! It’s totally fine, very darling, what can people possibly find to criticize her about here?
Everything. People can find everything and anything. Comments were generally celebratory, with lots of people expressing disbelief that the girls were 17. But then … then there were the others.
Calm down, random Instagram user! In case you missed the memo, Kate is allowed to mention her other kids.
Well, that’s unsettling. They’re 17 dude, and you’re gross.
People also decided that since the girls were 17, that makes them fair game, and took to insulting the twins. On their mom’s Instagram post. On their birthday. Yay, people!
You seem nice! Also, there’s a thing called a remote, it allows you to change the channel and NOT WATCH THE SHOW. Christ.
Awwww, look! A concern troll! “Happy birthday, girls! You’re the worst.”
Look, love her or hate her, there are some things people just need to back the fuck up on when it comes to Kate Gosselin. She’s ruffled a lot of feathers, for sure. But she’s also allowed to do the mom thing and wish her twins a happy birthday. And it shouldn’t need to be said, but those kids didn’t ask for any of this. So go join an “I H8 KATE” fan club and stay out of her mentions. And keep the kids’ names off your fingertips.
