Dear Rolling Stone: Let’s Stop Sexualizing Teens By Calling Them ‘Hot Ready & Legal’

justin bieber hot ready legalJustin Beiber appears on the August cover of Rolling Stone, who chose to describe the teen idol as “HOT, READY, LEGAL.” Way to keep it classy, guys. The Beibs turned 18 in March, a fact that crushed the dreams of countless tweens yet delighted many a cougar. (No, really, could you vomit?)

The folks over at Gawker couldn’t help but notice that Rolling Stone used the exact same coverline in August 2004. That issue’s cover girl? A then 18-year-old Lindsay Lohan!

I get it, I get it sex sells. But c’mon, it is not okay to sexualize teens in such a blatant manner. I mean, really, could they not have come up with something just a bit more subtle? Urgh.

In other Bieber news, the pop star says he loves having a young mother (Pattie Mallette was just 18 when she had him). “I was definitely an accident,” he told 2Day FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show. “It’s great my mom is super young. She’s a friend and a mom. She’s always been really strict [and] she still keeps me in line.”
