Jill Duggar Finally Had Her Baby And It Doesn’t Look Like The Home Birth They Had Planned

Hark! The Messiah is born, ya’ll! Jill and Derick Dillard have officially welcomed their first-born son into the world!

Israel David Dillard was born at 11:49 pm last night, according to People. He weighed 9lbs, 10oz, which is adorably chunky, but Jill was 10 days overdue, so it’s not surprising that he’s a little big! Check out the photo of him here.

So cute, right? The photo is interesting, though. It would appear that Jill had to have him in a hospital or birthing center after all. She and Derick were very vocal about wanting a home birth for little Israel but it looks like it didn’t work out that way. Maybe her being so far overdue caused her mid-wives to use extra caution or maybe she had some complications that led to her being admitted. I’m sure the details will be kept under-wraps so the big TLC special in early May won’t be spoiled!

Update via People: As we figured from the picture, little Israel was born in a hospital but all is well!

Although the new parents had planned for a home birth, baby Israel was born in a hospital. According to the Dillards, mom and baby are both doing well.
