Jamie Lynn Spears On Being A Teen Mom: Why She’s Worth Listening To

Jamie Lynn Spears. Most people at my age and stage know her simply as Britney Spears‘ little sister. Sure, Jamie was making a name for herself on Nickelodeon, but I think people of all ages really started to take notice in 2007 when, at age 16, she announced she was pregnant with boyfriend Casey Aldridge‘s baby. Remember: this was before Teen Mom infiltrated our TV screens and, well, people were dying to see how it would all play out.

Fast forward five years and Jamie – now 21, single and mom to little girl Maddie – has resurfaced with a big feature in Glamour magazine. Titled “The Last Time Anyone Heard From Me, I Was 16 and Pregnant,” Jamie writes candidly about what it was like to find herself 16 and pregnant – and in the public spotlight. It’s a touching piece by someone who was forced to grow up quickly and, I must say, Jamie comes across as a really down-to-earth young mom with some confessions and revelations that are definitely worth listening to.
