Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Here Are Some Ways To Celebrate.

In case you didn’t know, it’s World Breastfeeding Week! For the 19th year running, the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action is using this week to promote and explain the benefits of nursing. Breastfeeding in public continues to be a contentious topic, but I think we can all agree that breastfeeding, when possible, helps our children.

This year’s theme is “Talk to Me – a 3D Experience”. The group believes that discussions about breastfeeding normally fall into one of two catergories: how long did you nurse and where should you nurse. Sometimes, we forget to communicate with each other why we nurse and what works for us. WABA believes that the communication needs to be the third tier to breastfeeding advocacy.

So what can we do to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week? I’m so glad you asked. I have a couple ideas.
