Greedy Baseball Fan Tried To Steal Souvenir Baseball From Little Girl, But Derek Jeter Saves The Day

I am a huge baseball fan, and one of my fondest childhood memories involves me, at 9-years-old, catching a fly ball during a Cincinnati Reds game in the 1990’s. I still have it to this day, and it has a place of honor on the bookshelf in my bedroom. So I think it goes without saying that I think there is a special place in hell for anyone who would try to steal a baseball from a little kid. Fortunately for one young girl, Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter was there to make sure that she got the ball that she deserved, in spite of one greedy woman who wanted it all to herself.

According to the Bleacher Report, the World’s Sexiest Baseball Player attempted to give a souvenir baseball to a Jeter-jersey-wearing little girl in the stands at the end of an inning. One Astros fan clearly didn’t get the message, however, and in the video below you can see Miss-Greedy-Pants desperately trying to grab the ball away from Jeter and the little girl. Because clearly Astros fans have no souls (Just kidding! Sort of…).

You can totally see the annoyance on Jeter’s face as this asshat repeatedly tried to yank the damn ball away. It would be totally humorous, if she wasn’t a complete and total butt munch about the whole thing. Finally, Jeter was able to deter the older woman, and gave the ball to its rightful owners, who was fittingly wearing not only a Jeter jersey, but also a Yankees baseball hat and had a Yankee’s sign in her hands. The coup de grace? Not only did the Yankees beat the Astros four to two, but the game was the last opening day of Jeter’s career, since he is set to retire at the end of the season. Which means that this baseball will probably put this kid through college someday. Which is probably the only reason why an Astros fan would want anything from Derek Jeter anyway.
